A famous drink in Japan

Did you know that the very famous drink “Yakult” that conquered the world until now originated in Japan?

When I was young, I used to think that this drink is from America. Years after spending some time in Japan, I learned that this is an original Japanese Drink, and it is dominating the market everywhere.

At some point, sold in a way that would embody the uniqueness of the Japanese culture.

The unique way of selling or its distribution is through what they call as “Yakult Ladies.” These ladies normally do a door-to-door deliveries at your workplaces or would suddenly pop into offices. There are approximately 35,000 Yakult Ladies in Japan and are still operating even these days.

This is a drink that all Japanese from all different walks of life enjoy drinking. You can easily find them in convenience stores, supermarkets, online stores and even on vending machines! It comes with a tiny size bottle that measures the palm of your hand. It has a sweet-sour taste like Yogurt. It is a healthy drink that contains Probiotics which is good for your stomach and gut.

Although, this drink is also available all over the world. Drinking it in the country of its origin just makes the experience totally on a different level!
