Daikon is a vegetable that has a mild―flavor. The salad version of this winter vegetable is a very popular menu in Japan. The Daikon is sliced into long strips or can even be shredded. This form will give your salad that crunchy texture that most Japanese enjoy eating. You can add other vegetables such as carrots, persimmons or any vegetables of your choice.

Finally, you can pick or choose any dressing that suits your taste bud. The Ponzu citrus-based soy sauce would be a nice dressing too.

4. Boiled Daikon Recipe

This recipe is the go to winter side dish for most of the Japanese. This is a very simple yet healthy recipe. No need for oil or even extreme high heat. Just boil the water and add the Daikon along with the the ingredients of your choice. Furthermore, you add seasonings such as spring onions or scallions, ginger, a few drop of sesame oil, oyster sauce for flavoring and let it simmer or 20 minutes.

As simple that! No need for any extravagant work!
