Guerilla Rain

Japanese people call the downpouring and cloudburst the “Guerilla Rain”. Why we call it “Guerilla Rain” is that the cloud suddenly develop into abnormally and extremely bigger one suddenly, and rain heavily on one spot. It is difficult to for us foresee where it will happen. It will be infiltrated into our housing area and cause a lot of damages to our society like guerilla.

It is like guerillas who surprise the attack at war. Every year the damage to our society has worsened in many area in Japan. Umbrellas become useless and people are soaked to skin. The traffic system is completely paralyzed because the road turned into a pond and river. The front wiper on car does not work well so it is dangerous to drive a car.

When you see the thick cloud above your head, shelter from the rain immediately. Then, go upstairs. Do not approach the river. Stay still until the cloud will pass through.
