The revolution of My Tongue – Dried Sweet Potato
Have you ever heard ”Hooshi-imo”- Dried Sweet Potato in Japan?
It is the main products in Ibaraki prefecture, Japan.
I remember someone gave me a pack of these products. At that time, I bit a piece of them. Then, next one. I felt like it has run-of-the-mil taste that Sweet Potatoes have had. But next bite and bite. The pack was empty soon. After that I realized that I needed more.
I purchase one more pack in a market. Then, I consume it on the day.
I realized that I became addicted to this product. My hand cannot stop carrying my hands into my mouth.
Day in day out, I was dying for “Hoshi-imo”. Basically, I am from Kansai, west part of Japan. It was not then until Hoshi-imo attracted me extremely. While watching TV, while typing PC, while studying, I always miss the taste which is softly sweet. Who invented this taste? The revolution broke out in my tongue.
But the problem is the price. It is a bit expensive the ones which is sold at supermarkets.
One day, my co-worker gave me a pack of “Hoshi-imo”. Then I bit one.
It was a shot in the blue!!! Gosh!!
The second wave came down on me!!
The taste is incredible soft and sweet. The texture is perfect. I looked back on the pack to make sure which company produces this incredible taste. But the pack had no label on the products. I asked her where she could gain it. But she did not know where it can be purchased because it was given from her parents. Therefore, I googled it but there are no picture of the pack.
According to my research, many people in Ibaraki has the secret wholesale retailers. They know which retailers value it at more reasonable prices in contrast with the taste. It sounds profound to me.
The ”Hoshi-imo” is under investigation.
