Importance of Using Flashcards
One of the handiest English Teaching materials are the flashcards. Flashcards are a set of cards with an A4 Size containing images, words, and phrases. Moreover, ALTs and teachers used these cards during their classes. Typically, it has two sides, the prompt for one side and the other side is the information about the prompt.
Benefits of using Flashcards
Flashcards are beneficial in terms of introducing vocabulary to the students. Through visual learning, the students especially the younger ones will be able to have an image of what does a word or phrases means. Hence, this is a good aid for memorization and vocabulary retention.
Furthermore, flashcards can be used to practice the pronunciation of the words. This can be used to elicit and to review the vocabulary to the students. Aside from that, when it comes to introducing the grammar structures to the students, flashcards are a great bearer of information.
Finally, you may also use the flashcards to certain English Game Activities such as Keyword Game, Missing Game, Stereo Game and many more.
Yes I agree. Flashcards are very useful form of learning material.Because of the pictures the learners tend to memorize it more quickly for they can visualize it .And it is easier to teach a group of children using it for everybody could interact all at the same time and thats make learning more fun.
